Following on from last week’s post we are delighted to share with you a selection of photographs of the completed arrangements from last weekend’s ‘Florimania’ at Hampton Court Palace.
With the event entitled ‘ Flowers from around the world: exploring the continents, each of the arrangements represented either a picture on display in Hampton Court Palace or a country of the world.
Following the event, we received the following email from Jane Rickard of Surrey NAFAS:
“The flowers are exceptional and are standing up really well.
The feedback from the public over the last 2 days has been great. Many thinking it was the best yet!!!! Of course, that is largely due to the quality of the flowers. As usual – all went smoothly and you handled the whole day marvellously!!
Thank you once again for all your help and patience with us and the good organisation of our flowers on conditioning day.”

Yesterday we made our now annual trip to Hampton Court Palace to deliver the flowers for their ‘Florimania’ event this coming weekend
It was our absolute pleasure to, once again, be working with Jane Rickard and her team of flower arrangers from Surrey NAFAS
The theme for this years’ event is “Flowers from around the world: exploring the continents” so a vast array of flowers were chosen by the arrangers including the largest quantity of tropical flowers we have ever supplied
The photographs below were taken during the handout and conditioning of the flowers and we look forward to sharing photos of the finished arrangements soon
Nursery Fresh is delighted to have once again worked with Jane Rickard and the flower arrangers of Surrey NAFAS in supplying the flowers for ‘Florimania’ at Hampton court Palace this weekend.
This year’s event entitled “Ladies with Flowers” will include floral displays and flower arranging demonstrations inspired by some of the most notable garden-loving Queens from Queen Mary II and her collection of exotic plants at Hampton Court Palace to Queen Charlotte at Kew Gardens.
Below are a few photos taken during the flowers sorting and delivery stages and we hope to post photos of the finished results soon.
Following our delivery of all the plant material earlier in the week it was lovely to receive the following email from Jane Rickard
“Just to say a big thank you for the simply gorgeous selection of flowers that you delivered to us today. Really fabulous and as well organised as usual.
It is always a pleasure to work with you all.
We are delighted to announce details of the following events which will take place at our premises in Horndean during November and December
Tickets for these events generally sell quite quickly so if you wish to attend please book your place as soon as possible
What beautiful weather for last weekend’s couples – fingers crossed it is a sign of things to come for the rest of the Summer. On Saturday we made our first trip to the Elvetham Hotel, near Fleet in Hampshire – a very stately 19th century mansion set in beautifully landscaped gardens. Whilst the ceremony took place […]

Little did we know when we were asked to supply flowers to one of our customers in Stratford that her arrangement would appear in the national press as it was paraded through the streets of the city as part of the celebrations to mark the 400th Anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare last weekend.
We can supply flowers to virtually any location in mainland UK via our overnight courier service so if you need flowers for any occasion please do get in touch to discuss your specific requirements

It has been an exceptionally busy week at Nursery Fresh – it has been lovely seeing so many Flower Arrangers from our local Cathedrals and Churches coming in to buy their Easter flowers from us. We have also dispatched several orders for churches further afield via our overnight delivery service.
We wish you all a very happy Easter and look forward to seeing you all again in the coming months – fingers crossed for a busy wedding season too
This morning we were delighted to be joined by a group of ladies who had requested one of our tailor made workshops.
Under the direction of Clare the group learnt how to put together a hand tied bouquet of mixed flowers and also a small posy which would be suitable for use as a Bridesmaid bouquet at a wedding.
As you will see from the photographs below, a great time was had by all and the group have already requested another workshop in a few months time.
If you and a group of friends (minimum group of 4 people) would like to get together for your own workshop please do let us know.
It has, once again, been our pleasure to work with the Surrey Area of NAFAS in supplying the flowers for ‘Florimania’ 2016 which takes place at Hampton Court Palace this weekend.
During the weeks leading up to the event, we work with Jane Rickard of Surrey NAFAS in collating the orders which are then placed with our suppliers for delivery to us the day before they are delivered to Hampton Court. We then have a busy day sorting all the flowers into individual orders which are then transported to the Palace early in the morning, ready for distribution to the Flower Arrangers.
Below are just a few photographs taken during the delivery and distribution of the flowers and we hope to post some more of the finished displays in due course
International Women’s Day is celebrated in many countries around the world. It is a day when women are recognised for their achievements without regard to divisions, whether national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political.
For the United Nations, International Women’s Day has been observed on 8 March since 1975 and so this year the day will follow just 2 days after UK Mother’s Day which, with Easter falling early, comes only 3 weeks after Valentine’s Day.
The effect that International Women’s Day will have on UK Mother’s Day prices, being only 2 days apart, is as always about supply and demand. International Women’s Day has a huge market in Eastern Europe with a demand to match. The production from growers cannot match the demand from Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and International Women’s Day in such a short space of time because flowers need time to grow. As a result of this and low volumes in the auctions, chances are the prices will be high.
There are certain flowers that are very popular for International Women’s Day, such as Chrysanthemums, Lilies and Roses, so you can be certain that these will be very expensive this Mother’s Day.
Whilst it is difficult for us to predict prices at anytime of the year it will be particularly hard during this period but rest assured we will endeavour to buy at the best price but without compromising on our usual standards and quality. However, it is worth remembering that prices for all flowers could be high at this time so do bear this in mind when pricing for any work you have planned.
