Hampton Court ‘Florimania’ 2015

We always know that Spring is on its’ way when we are asked to supply the flowers for ‘Florimania’ at Hampton Court Palace. This year’s event showcases the way in which flower displays have changed over the past five centuries to tie in with the fact that the Palace is 500 years old this year.

It is such a pleasure working with Jane Rickard and the Surrey Area of NAFAS in supplying all the plant material required for the flower arrangers to create their arrangements in the stunning setting of this beautiful Palace.

Having met with all the flower arrangers, Jane Rickard, sends the orders into us which are then collated and sent to our suppliers. On receipt by us the flowers are then sorted into individual orders ready for transportation to Hampton Court Palace early in the morning. Once at the Palace the buckets are arranged into order of collection times ready for the arrival of the flower arrangers who are then able to prepare their flowers ready for staging day. This is a seamless process which we have perfected over many years of involvement in such events.

We have today received this lovely email from Jane Rickard which we are delighted to share with you –

Hello Girls

Just to say thank you all so much for the beautiful flowers that you delivered yesterday to Hampton Court Palace for Florimania.

As usual the quality is excellent and everything was again, so well organised.

Some of your flower choices are just beautiful – the Blueberry and Capuccino roses are gorgeous.

Tomorrow we shall have the pleasure of arranging them all and I am confident that, as usual, they will stand up well for the weekend.

With many thanks to you all again – I so enjoy working with you.

Love

Jane

In return, we would like to thank Jane, Surrey Area of NAFAS and all those involved with ‘Florimania’ at Hampton Court Palace for entrusting us with their order and we look forward to working with them all again.

If you wish to visit ‘Florimania’ it takes place at Hampton Court Palace from Friday 13th – Sunday 15th March and is an ideal Mother’s Day treat. Not only will you have the opportunity to see stunning flower displays but there will also be flower demonstrations plus the chance to visit the rest of the Palace and its beautiful grounds.

Below are some photographs taken during the flower sorting and then the handout at Hampton Court Palace

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to you all and let’s hope 2014 is a happy, healthy and successful year for us all. It seems unbelievable that we are now almost half way through January but it seems a good opportunity to reflect on the events we were involved with leading up to Christmas.

We were delighted to work with Jane Rickard and the Surrey Area of NAFAS supplying the flowers to “Florimania for Christmas” at Hampton Court Palace. Having supplied “Spring Florimania” for a number of years it was wonderful to see the Palace transformed with a festive floral twist as Williams III’s apartments were dressed with Christmas floral arrangements. Visitors were also able to attend Christmas Wreath and Table Decoration demonstrations by Area Demonstrators.

We now look forward to supplying the next “Spring Florimania” to be held over Mothering Sunday weekend at the end of March.

On the 14th December we welcomed NAFAS demonstrator Irene Hickson to our warehouse for a demonstration entitled “Festive Fantasy”. Over 50 ladies attended the event which saw Irene display examples of festive arrangements in a multitude of colours from pink and purple to the more traditional reds and greens. Irene had been recommended to us by members of a local flower club and we were certainly not disappointed – her enthusiasm, humour and obvious love of flower arranging left everyone inspired and motivated to create their own Christmas designs.

Below is a small selection of photographs from the demonstration.

As we drew closer to Christmas we held two of our very popular Workshop mornings. Lead by our in house florist Rebecca Warwick workshop attendees were shown how to create two Christmas arrangements. The workshops were thoroughly enjoyed by all those who attended and we have already been asked to hold a ‘tailor made’ workshop for two of the ladies who attended plus some of their friends in the Spring.

Below is a selection of photographs taken at both the Workshops.

18th December was an early start for Clare and Sally who were at Portsmouth Dockyard by 6.30 in the morning to deliver the flowers ordered for the Homecoming of the Royal Navy frigate HMS Lancaster. Members of the Ship’s company had pre-ordered either a single red rose or a bouquet of flowers for presentation to their loved ones on disembarkation from the Ship after their 7 month deployment to the Caribbean.

The pictures below show the boxes of flowers being loaded onto the launch for transportation out to the Ship prior to its arrival into the Dockyard.

I think that just about summarises the end of last year and we are now preparing for the coming weeks which will include Valentine’s Day and Mothering Sunday followed by what is looking to be a very busy Summer of weddings.

Christmas Events at Nursery Fresh

As promised we are delighted to announce details of our forthcoming programme of events some or all of which we hope you will be able to attend.

We are delighted to have booked NAFAS Demonstrator Irene Hickson for our Christmas Demonstration and whilst Irene is playing her cards very close to her chest regarding the displays she will be creating “Festive Fantasy” is certainly an intriguing theme.

Tickets for Demonstrations we have held during the past year have sold out rapidly so do book up as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

Our pre-Christmas workshops proved very popular and incredible fun last year so whatever your experience of Flower Arranging do try and attend one of these – if either of these dates are not suitable for you why not try and get a group of friends together and we can tailor make a workshop for you.

We look forward to seeing you all in the coming weeks

Demonstration – Saturday 20th April 2013

Nursery Fresh were delighted to welcome Flower Arrangers to a demonstration by Liz Pelley entitled ‘Church Wedding Flowers’ at their premises in Horndean on Saturday afternoon. The idea behind the theme of the demonstration was to show arrangers new and innovative arrangements using traditional flowers and working within the tight constraints of Church wedding budgets. Whilst creating several arrangements from pew ends to pedestals, Liz also passed on money saving tips and ideas all of which she has gained from her years of church flower arranging. All those who attended commented on how much they had enjoyed the demonstration and left feeling inspired to re-create some of the arrangements in their own churches. A big thank you to Liz and all those who attended.
